Guest Post: Why I Switched from IntenseDebate to Disqus

I'm interrupting your normal programming to let you know I had the fantastic opportunity to guest post on BloggerJet, and the post is up today. Yay!

Some of you may have noticed that I switched  my commenting system around (yet again) and if you were wondering why you should check it out.

Or maybe if you're just interested by the title and are wondering why I made the switch or even what IntenseDebate and Disqus are, you should also take a look.

Then you should hang around BloggerJet, because it's a pretty great blog.

That is all.

If you’re starting a new blog, or haven’t joined the commenting 2.0 revolution, you should have Intense Debate on your list. The switching path is easier than Disqus, and you could do far worse.

Unfortunately you can't see the article as the site is currently offline, but I did start off with IntenseDebate and switched over to Disqus for a couple of bug-related reasons. Overall they're both fantastic commenting systems.

Disqus appears to have more features than IntenseDebate.

I think they're both perfectly valid and fantastic commenting systems (and certainly an upgrade from the default Blogger commenting system), but I've been using Disqus for a while now and I'm very happy with it, as I haven't encountered nearly as many bugs as I did when I was using IntenseDebate. No commenting system is perfect (not even Disqus) and there are some glitches and drawbacks, but in my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons.
