Discussion: What Books Will You Be Asking for This Holiday Season?

Photo credit: me (maybe I went Christmas shopping early, okay?)
It’s no secret by now to my family and friends that if there’s a gift-giving occasion coming, I’m going to want books. Or gift cards so I can buy books. Because books.

For fun, and because I obviously don’t have enough books on my TBR shelf (you know, only 185 and counting), I thought it might be fun to share the books I’ll be hoping for this Christmas and see some of the books you guys want to get.

Here are (some) of the books I’ll be crossing my fingers for this season!

How about you? What books will you be asking for this holiday season?

  1. Oh goodness ... My husband kept asking me what I want, and I'd say, "Books." Some of what I'm hoping for are A Time to Dance, Atlantia, Girl of Fire and Thorn Stories, Of Metal and Wishes, The Body Electric ... and the Grisha Trilogy. (Confession: I own the e-book version of Grisha, but I love this series so much that I want a physical copy of it. Because I'm weird like that.)

  2. I never ask for books for the holidays as my mom never get's me books anyway and the other people who get me present usually choose something else as well. I usually get money from my grandma though, which I spend on books. I have to admit I already made a list of books I hope to buy this christmas; Deceptions by Kelley Armstrong, Empire of Night by Kelley Armstrong, The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent, Lexicon by Max Barry and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Braduco.
I haven't read any of the books on your list except for Days of Blood and Stardust, still haven't read the last book in the series though.

  3. I've asked for The Infinite Sea, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, Elenore and Park, Half Bad and Girl Online. I'm pretty sure I'll consider Christmas a failure if I don't get at least 2 of them lol

  4. Ah yeah, it's definitely important to read within your category/genre (but so much YA! The struggle must be intense ha ha). I hope you get what you're asking for, though! :)

  5. Oh mannnn! THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS is really excellent (you might as well ask for the rest of the series, too). I just recently got THE BODY ELECTRIC but haven't had the chance to read it yet (soon! I hope). I was also super curious about OF METAL AND WISHES, so if you get it...let me know what you think!

    Also, Grisha love forever.

  6. SHADOW AND BONE is sooooo good! The GRISHA trilogy is one of my favorites. The others I haven't read, though, so I can't really comment on them. I hope you're able to buy some with your Christmas money! :)

  7. HALF BAD is one of my favorite reads of the year (and one of my favorites, period). Loooove it! ELEANOR & PARK I just recently read and enjoyed, but I have to admit, I actually liked FANGIRL better (but they're both good)! INFINITE I obviously agree with :) and I've heard about TO ALL THE BOYS! If you get it, let me know what you think!

  10. Quite a few of these I'm also hoping for :) Ive read We Were Liars, and I'll admit I wasn't that pulled into the the story at first, but it turned out amazing, and her writing style is beautiful.

  11. Good to know! Everyone seems to be raving about it, so I figure my odds of liking it are decent enough... :)
