I think the best piece of advice for writers isn't to do with any of that stuff, as you point out. Of course that has importance too, and that's why so many bloggers and writers of articles dispense it. But the main thing is just to be confident in who you are, how you write and what you write, because ultimately that's the reason people are reading your fiction. Not for your paragraph length, not the way your sentences are short and snappy or long and eloquent: they're reading for your voice. And sometimes we lose sight of that.Nicholas J. When I first turned my ms to other writer...I agree. When I first turned my ms to other writers to read I noticed something bery interesting. Some of them tried to re-write it to be in their voice.<br /><br />I of course ignored all such editing advice. And O hope other writers do the same.
